This year in our Lent Course we will be looking at the short book by Rowan Williams entitled “Silence and Honey Cakes: the wisdom of the desert”. The course will be held over 5 weeks, mostly Wednesdays except for the final session which will be held on a Monday. Each session will start with a period of meditation/contemplation. A discussion of the relevant chapter will follow (except for the first session when we will have a presentation on the Desert Fathers and Mothers) and we will end with compline. We will aim for an 1¼ to 1½ hour session. There is a book to buy, costing under £8. It’s also available in Kindle. If there is a problem with procuring this book then please talk to Jacques. There is a sign up sheet at the back of the churchDates:

Following the conflict in Syria as many as 5 million people urgently need food packages, warm blankets and other basic essentials and we need to be pro-active in our support of this appeal.
